Roofing in Cork, asked and answered
Do you work in Cork city centre with restricted access?
Yes. Terraced and city centre jobs need the scaffold planned properly, and where it crosses a public footpath a licence from Cork City Council is required. We arrange that as part of the job and build the cost into the quote rather than adding it later.
My neighbour and I share a valley. Who pays?
Normally you split it, because the valley serves both houses. We survey it once, price the whole valley, and give you both the same written quote so there is nothing to argue about. Doing one half only never lasts.
How far into West Cork do you go?
As far as Skibbereen, Bantry and Dunmanway. Surveys out there are free but we group them, so give us a few days notice unless it is an active leak.
My estate roof is green. Does it need replacing?
Not necessarily. If the tiles are sound and the felt underneath is intact, cleaning, repointing and coating will buy you another decade for a fraction of the cost. We check the felt from inside the attic before recommending either.
