About us

A small crew that only does roofs

AltRoofing started with one van and two lads doing repairs around Tralee. Twelve years on we are six, we still take the small jobs, and the person who quotes your roof is on it while the work is going on.

We do not subcontract the roof out. We buy our slate and lead from the same two suppliers, we scaffold properly, and we would rather turn a job down than rush it in bad weather.

Easiest way to start is a photo and the address, by WhatsApp or phone.

How we work

Four things we do not budge on

One price, in writing

The quote lists materials, scaffold and skip. If something hidden turns up, we show you the photo and agree the cost before we carry on.

Proper scaffold

Every re-roof gets scaffold and netting. It costs more than a ladder and it is the reason nothing lands in your garden.

We tell you no

If a repair will not hold, we say so. If your roof has another ten years in it, we say that too and take the small job instead.

Clean site

Gutters cleared, magnet run over the drive for nails, skip collected. You should not be finding slate in the grass in July.

Fibre cement slates laid in even courses

Where we work

Kerry, Cork, Limerick and Waterford

We cover the four counties of the south west, from Dingle and Killarney across to Cork city, Limerick and Waterford. We go further for full re-roofs and for builders we already work with. If you are outside that, ring us anyway and we will tell you straight whether it makes sense.

Who we work for

Homeowners, landlords and builders

Three quarters of our work is private houses. The rest is construction companies who need a roofing crew that turns up on the date in the programme.
