01 New roof

Design and construction of new roofs

For new builds, extensions, garden rooms and dormer conversions. We set out the pitch, cut and fit the timbers, then build up membrane, battens and covering in the material you have chosen.

02 Roof reconstruction

Strip, repair the structure, re-cover

Most houses we work on are 40 to 100 years old. The slate is at the end of its life, the nails are gone and the felt underneath has torn. We take it back to the timbers, replace what is soft, and re-cover the whole roof.

03 Roof repair

Small jobs done properly

Slipped slates after a storm, a cracked valley, a ridge tile that has come loose, flashing that has lifted. We carry slate, tile, lead and fixings on the van, so most repairs are done the same visit.

04 Eliminating the leak

Find the cause, not the stain

A wet patch on a bedroom ceiling is often two metres from the hole. We start in the attic with a torch, follow the track back up the felt, then wet test the suspect area from outside until we can prove where it comes in.

05 Roof painting

Clean, repoint, then coat

Concrete tiles go porous and green long before they go bad. We wash the roof down, clear the gutters of the moss that comes off, repoint ridges and verges, then roll on two coats of breathable coating in the colour you pick.

Work that comes with the roof

Chimney repair

Repointing, rendering, new flaunching, new pots and lead trays. We rebuild from the roofline up where the brick has gone soft.

Gutter installation

Seamless aluminium or uPVC, sized for the roof area, with proper falls and outlets so heavy rain does not run over the front edge.

Roof insulation

Attic floor or rafter level, with ventilation kept clear at the eaves so you do not trade a cold house for a damp one.

Flat roofs

Fibreglass GRP, Lava 20 and single ply on extensions, garages and dormers. Trims, outlets and upstands included.

Cladding and metal

Standing seam and profiled metal for sheds, farm buildings and modern extensions, in matching colours.

Commercial work

Roofs for builders and developers on estates and refurbishments, priced per unit with a programme we stick to.
